About Us

Santikos Entertainment, formerly Santikos Theaters, was founded in 1911 by Greek entrepreneur Louis Santikos and was owned and operated by his son, John L. Santikos, until his passing in 2014. In 2015 as part of the estate of the late John L. Santikos, Santikos Entertainment was donated to the San Antonio Area Foundation as a lasting gift to San Antonio and area communities.

Santikos Entertainment is dedicated to providing a best-in-class movie going experience by integrating leading-edge technologies with extremely comfortable surroundings and fabulous guest service experiences to create incomparable entertainment destinations. But that’s just half of the story. As defined by its business model and guided by the gift of John L. Santikos, today Santikos Entertainment operates as a social enterprise, serving the higher purpose of giving back to the community in a meaningful way. We operate as a for-profit company that exists for the sole purpose of giving back to non-profits in the San Antonio area communities in the form of donations, sponsorships, grants and programming that educate, cure, support and otherwise enhance the lives of the local community. Whether it’s arts and culture, health, youth and education, or people in need, Santikos Entertainment is invested in building a stronger San Antonio and surrounding area..
