What is Toastmasters?
Have you ever been afraid to speak in front of a crowd?
Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development. Spanning the globe, our membership is 280,000 strong. These members improve their speaking and leadership skills by attending one of the 13,500 clubs in 116 countries that make up our global network of meeting locations.
A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere.
There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success.
Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to timekeeping, grammar and parliamentary procedure.
Who are we?
Schertz Chamber of Commerce Toastmasters Club is a young, up and coming Toastmasters Club that is open to the public (that means you!).
We work with one another in the club, as well as with other local clubs that we have relationships with to ensure that all Toastmasters have the ability to get the most out of it they possibly can. Toastmasters is an organization where what you get out of it depends directly on what you put into it. The more effort you put in, the more learning and experience you will receive!
