Join us as we hear from Lisa Swint. Lisa is currently serving her fourth term on the Garden Ridge City Council, this time as Mayor. Prior to becoming the Mayor, she was elected Mayor Pro Tem by her fellow Council Members three times. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, a daughter of a NASA engineer and a teacher, Lisa is proud to be a servant leader. As a longtime volunteer, involved parent, experienced Council Member and tireless advocate for Garden Ridge, she represents a vibrant and optimistic voice in the community. Protecting the future of Garden Ridge and preserving the peaceful nature of the city thru thoughtful, strategic planning are her primary goals. 

Lisa’s educational background includes a BA in English Literature and an MA in Community Counseling. As a Parks Committee volunteer, she was essential in bringing new park equipment to Paul Davis Park. As a Council member, she wrote the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department grant awarding the city $133,000 for a walking trail in Paul Davis Park. She is a graduate of the Comal County University program, the Hill Country Alliance Leadership Institute, the Garden Ridge Police Academy and is a member of the Lions.  

Lisa and her husband, Todd Vagi, are proud parents to a combined six kids: Jonah, Jack, Sophie, Henry, Wyatt and Quinn.   Be sure to RSVP for a luncheon seat.
