The City of Schertz, Bexar Waste, area churches and other community partners are coming together for a volunteer event called "Love Where You Live."
On the weekend of April 23-24, community partners will combine their efforts to help clean up areas of Aviation Heights - one of the oldest neighborhood in Schertz. Volunteers will go into the community to do trash removal, trim bushes, cut lawns and trees, paint homes, etc. for those unable to do it themselves or afford to hire a contractor.
The effort will run from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 23rd, and on Sunday, April 24th. Following the work day on Sunday at 5:30 pm, a dinner will be served by the Schertz United Methodist Church, at Pickrell Park for volunteers and for the families that were assisted.
For more information, or to volunteer to participate in the clean up, contact City Councilmember Jim Fowler at bamcjim@msn.com or 210-326-6017.
