DESCRIPTION:2011 Wilenchik 5K Walk for Life sponsored by H.E.B.\n\nSaturday\, March 5th @ 8:00 am.\n\nWalk will begin at the Schertz Public Library\, 798 Schertz Parkway\n\n\n\nThe event is named after former Schertz City Councilman\, Tony Wilenchik\, who lost his battle with cancer in 2009 and was a tireless advocate for his community. All proceeds benefit the UT Health Science Center Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC) of San Antonio.\n\n\n\nPre-registration is underway and fees are as follows:\n\n$20 - ages 18 and older\n\n$10 - ages 13 to 17\n\nFree - children ages 12 and under\n\n\n\nDogs are also invited to participate for $10 per animal.\n\n\n\n Teams of five or more individuals (registered together) are $15 each.\n\nParticipants can also register on event day\n\nThe first 500 participants to register get a bag full of goodies on walk day!\n\nGoody bags can be picked up March 4th from 10 am - 6pm at the Schertz Civic Center (1400 Schertz Parkway\, Bldg #5).\n\n\n\nPrizes will be awarded to "Most Funds Raised" and "Best Team T-shirt Design" (Team & Individual).\n\n\n\nSigns of Love are available for purchase for $15 at Schertz City Hall Business Office\, Bldg #1 (1400 Schertz Parkway). Signs will be placed along the walk route in memory of a loved one who has lost the battle with cancer\, in honor of a loved one who currently fights\, or has survived.
