DESCRIPTION:This year\, the members of hYPer are interested in encouraging and supporting the Buffalo Valley Youth Association. BVYA is committed to providing the best in recreational sports opportunities for the children in our area. Currently BVYA offers youth sports programs in baseball\, softball\, basketball\, volleyball\, football\, cheerleading\, and wrestling and competition swim club. BVYA also provides scholarship programs to those families who are unable to afford BVYA registration fees.  The funds raised this year by hYPer will go to help with these efforts.\n\nIn order to raise these funds\, hYPer is hosting its 4th annual "Schertz Idol"\, which\, like its TV counterpart\, is a singing competition. It is open to contestants' ages 10-20 years. Each contestant will audition once at one of two live auditions held at the Cross Point Church on May 16th or June 13th from 1-3pm.  We are also asking each contestant to upload a YouTube Video of themselves singing a song of their choice. Once the video is approved by the Schertz Idol committee\, we will post that video on schertzidol.com and viewers can vote for their favorite contestant. The online votes are $1 each. The top 20 contestants will then perform at the Schertz Jubilee on July 4th\, where the judges will reduce the number of contestants down to 10. We will also have a float at the 4th of July Parade and would like all of our contestants to ride with hYPer. The final competition will be held\, for those who qualify\, at Cross Point Church at 5pm on August 15th.
