DESCRIPTION:Experience a unique opportunity to run the same course as the racehorses - on the racetrack at Retama - all while supporting a local nonprofit. \n\n \n\nRetama is one of only four live horse racing tracks in our great state of Texas\, and you'll be among the first to run where the horses do\, on the turf track (see FAQs for terrain details)!\n\n \n\nThe REAL LIFE 5k provides a certified 5k course\, professional competitive timing by IAAP\, announcements by Anthony Zamora\, tech shirts and swag for all participants\, 5-year Age Group awards by gender for the competitive race\, custom finisher medals for all course finishers\, and a great post-race party featuring DJ Paul!\n\n \n\nThe REAL LIFE 5K exists to provide a high-quality annual running event\, through which our community can come alongside Real Life Community Outreach in their mission to "Serve our community with compassion\, providing support and opportunities which empower people to better their lives."\n\n \n\nReal Life Community Outreach is a tax exempt 501(c)3 whose charitable purpose is to share compassion through food assistance\, vocational training\, and kids camps in low-income neighborhoods.
