SUMMARY:Knock Out Child Abuse Bowl-a-thon
DESCRIPTION:All proceeds benefiting the Resource Room which helps children who are victims of abuse and neglect in Guadalupe County.\nWHAT IS THE RESOURCE ROOM?\nThe Resource Room is an emergency supply store run by Guadalupe County Children's Advocacy Center Resource Room Volunteers located in CPS headquarters (612 Jefferson Ave\, Seguin) and is available in all cases in Guadalupe County. The room is stocked with diapers\, formula\, clothing\, shoes\, school supplies\, personal grooming items\, and household cleaning supplies. Everything is given free of charge to the children through their Child Protective Services' caseworkers. There is no red tape\, no long wait\, and no need to scour the city for donations to help the children. The Resource Room can help if a caseworker picks up an abandoned infant by allowing the worker to take a tiny layette from the supplies to get the baby situated in a shelter or foster home. A battered mother and children who have fled an abusive home can be given new clothes and cleaning supplies to start a new life. A schoolchild can receive new clothes and a backpack full of supplies\, so that he or she doesn't feel different from other classmates. The Resource Room exists to help instill hope\, love\, and dignity for children who are experiencing life-wrenching physical and emotional trauma.
