DESCRIPTION:7th Annual Knock Out Child Abuse Bowl-a-Thon \n\nPresented by: Guadalupe County Children's Advocacy Center\n\n\n\nAll proceeds benefiting the Resource Room which helps children who are victims of abuse and neglect in Guadalupe County.\n\n\n\nWHAT IS THE RESOURCE ROOM?\n\n\n\nThe Resource Room is an emergency supply store run by Guadalupe County Children's Advocacy Center Resource Room Volunteers located in CPS headquarters (612 Jefferson Ave\, Seguin) and is available in all cases in Guadalupe County. The room is stocked with diapers\, formula\, clothing\, shoes\, school supplies\, personal grooming items\, and household cleaning \n\nsupplies. Everything is given free of charge to the children through their Child Protective Services' caseworkers. There is no red tape\, no long wait\, and no need to scour the city for donations to help the children. The Resource Room can help if a caseworker picks up an abandoned infant by allowing the worker to take a tiny layette from the supplies to get the baby situated in a shelter or foster home. A battered mother and children who have fled an abusive home can be given new clothes and cleaning supplies to start a new life. A schoolchild can receive new clothes and a backpack full of supplies\, so that he or she doesn't feel different from other classmates. The Resource Room exists to help instill hope\, love\, and dignity for children who are experiencing life-wrenching physical and emotional trauma.\n\n\n\nRegistration fee of $25.00 per person = $125.00 per team covers shoe rental and game fees.\n\n\n\nRequired - 5 people per team and 2 games played. \n\n\n\nThe registration dead line is Tuesday\, April 26th.\n\n\n\n1st\, 2nd\, and 3rd place Trophies will be handed out at the end of the day to the top scoring teams.\n\n\n\nFor more information\, call Rose Mary Ermel at 830-303-4760 or email rmermel@gccac.net or Michele Meehan at mmeehan@gccac.net.
